Personal biography: Jiye Lee graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in nutrition. During her time at Penn, she worked as an undergraduate research assistant on a project investigating teen driving behaviors in a driving simulation lab and worked as a nurse extern at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Upon graduating, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the in-patient hematology and nephrology unit, where she found her passion for taking care of children with chronic illnesses. She subsequently pursued her MSN degree in the Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2019. Further pursuing her interest in children with chronic illnesses, she published an overview of pediatric primary nephrotic syndrome in Pediatric Nursing in 2021. A board-certified pediatric acute care nurse practitioner, Jiye worked as a quality improvement nurse educator at the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the University of Miami. Through her MSN-PhD program at the University of Miami, she hopes to advance the knowledge in the field of pediatric mental health, especially regarding vulnerable populations of children and families.
